Hello All,
This email is to inform you that the SLD is starting their 'push' of NEW
PIN numbers. I have included the email that they have already sent to
some of the schools regarding these numbers and information as to when
AND how you will be receiving them. Please make sure that the person
who 'signs the forms' knows about this and that they inform those of you
that are actually doing the erate applications when they get this new
PIN number.
Let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks,
Sue R.
The purpose of this e-mail is to advise you that in the next three weeks
the Universal Service Administrative Company (USAC) will be mailing you
a NEW Personal Identification Number (PIN) in your name to the address
USAC has on file for you. Each certifier will receive a separate PIN
for each BEN with which he or she is associated. This PIN will allow
you to electronically submit the certification pages associated with
Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Forms 470,471 and 486. Keep
this PIN confidential, because the use of it is equivalent to your
handwritten signature.
Using your NEW PIN to electronically certify program forms:
* Means INSTANT and EASY certification
* Replaces paper submissions
* Saves you time and money
* Reduces delays
* Allows faster processing
Some of you currently have a 4-digit PIN. The NEW 6-8 digit PIN will
replace that PIN. All current 4-digit PINs will be deactivated at 11:59
P.M. EST on December 4, 2005. The NEW PIN will become active at 12:01
A.M. EST on December 5, 2005. There is nothing for you to do to
activate it. The first time you use your new PIN; however, you must
accept USAC's terms and conditions before you can certify program forms.
If you have submitted and certified an FCC form 470, 471 or 486 for
Funding Year 2005 or a certified FCC Form 470 for Funding Year 2006 --
or were previously assigned a PIN by USAC and you have not received the
new PIN by December 5, 2005 -- please call our Client Service Bureau
toll-free at 1-888-203-8100 for assistance.
