Don't miss out on this opportunity to hear a nationally known story
teller, Gay Ducey! Share with those on your staff who would benefit
from such an experience.
The Kearney Area Story Telling Festival is sponsoring a special workshop
just for teachers entitled Story Telling for Teachers with Gay Ducey, at
ESU 10 on Monday Jan 16 from 1 - 3:30 p.m. Ms. Ducey will demonstrate
methods of engaging students with the use of story as well as how to
utilize other media (pictures, music) for a multi-sensory experience.
Gay Ducey is a children's librarian at a branch of Oakland Pubic Library
in Oakland California and a staff trainer for volunteer story-readers.
A descendant of generations of Southern women who treasure spunk,
independence, and a sassy mouth, Ms. Ducey enjoys telling stories from
the Southern Appalachians as well as tales from a wide range of cultures
and traditions. For more information about Gay Ducey, visit
http://www.infopeople.org/training/trainers/gay_ducey.html.
