[Powerschool] student and school enroll dates

What dates is everyone using for the student template and the school 
enrollment template?  I am using the first day of school for the 
start date but what I am confused about is do I use the last Friday 
of September or October 1st for the end date?  I have not been able 
to find an answer in any of the documentation.
